I am thinking about getting a pet lizard. I have a wife and a new born baby so I don’t want anythin aggressive. I have been thinking about an Iguana or a Bearded Dragon because I want something that we can have out of the cage and handle without it running off or biting. Any ideas?

I am a huge lover of reptiles, especially lizards and snakes. Since I was a young kid I’ve always wanted a pet lizard, and once I’m settled into my new apartment, I plan on buying one for myself. I love everything about lizards, from their dinosaur faces, their loose scaley skin, and the idea of an iguana (perhaps) eating lettuce out of my hand just gets me so giddy and excited.

It will be a while yet before I buy one since I want to know all the information I need first, and it will be a while before I move and I don’t want to stress out my lizard by buying it too soon before I’m settled, but I have always wanted one, and this guy will never find himself abandoned.

I’m aware that in Florida there’s actually a population of “wild” iguanas that were abandoned by their previous owners. That won’t be the case here.
