How to get my kitten to stop nursing on my older cat?

I adopted two wonderful kitties- one’s about 12 weeks old, the other 4 weeks. The smaller obsessively tried to nurse the older girl.

I have no idea how to make him stop. I realize he is still a baby and was probably not ready to stop nursing, but the older cat is so annoyed. She can’t sleep peacefully because a little kitten is attached to her *******!!

Any ideas? I’m thinking of getting a small bottle for him and feeding him that way, hoping he’ll learn to leave her alone. Anyone else have this problem? How’d you get them to stop? What’s the typical age a kitten stops nursing?

The other 11 are normal – sized. Paul is the only one who is FAT. Moby and Monty are chubby,but they are also big-boned. Linus is just BIG!

So how much does your largest cat weigh,and is it a purebred or an ordinary domestic “moggy”? Mine are all domestic short or longhairs.
I guess we all have some fat kitties!!

Presouzkitty – Paul does look like a ragdoll and it’s funny,because his mother was a feral black cat and the other kittens in the litter are a black and white longhair with short legs and a smushed nose,like aPersian,a red tabby with white,a brown mackerel tabby with white and a calico.None of them are nearly as big as Paul,except for the brown tabby,and he is about 15 lbs.The other three are normal – sized.

Slightly different story here — we already have a 4 month kitten, name of Hickory. He is aggressive, curious, neutered but still clawed, and has totally dominated our purebred, 106-lb. German Shepherd Savannah. Next week we’re getting another kitten, Gabriel, to keep Hickory company. Gabriel is about twice as big and twice as old, but much more mellow, and he has no front claws. I’m wondering what the heck’s gonna happen when we put these two minxes together, and if anyone has any tips for making it go more smoothly in this specific situation. Thanks for input.
