Kaylee asked:

We have the sweetest, most handsome cat in the world, Meeko. He is 13 and very friendly. He gets along great with our collie and the birds. We are thinking of getting a kitten. How do older cats usually react? Are they like dogs in the way that the kitten will liven up the older cat, or are they resentful? We would introduce them gradually, and we’ve also heard of rubbing the new kitten with household scents like our cat’s blanket. How does this usually work out? What do you suggest doing when bringing a new kitten home?

Arnav

Ok Melissa, why don’t YOU just get it! If I choose to BUY a cat then thats my decision. Get over it!
A Purebred is what I want, that what I’ll get.

jeffery b asked:

I recently adopted a ragdoll cat from some locals in my area who could no longer keep her and were going to have her euthanized. She’s a purebred seal point mitted ragdoll and she’s gorgeous. Anyways, I found out that she was pregnant when I took her to the veterinarian for a check up and to set up an appointment to have her spayed.
The people I adopted her from told me that they were unsure how she became pregnant, (yea right) but the only possible father was not a ragdoll cat. I was informed he was a light brown striped cat with light green eyes.

I am completely ignorant to the fact of how cat genetics work. I’ve never had a cat that had kittens I have always spayed/neutered my cats

I was just wondering what the kittens will look like?

Please do not bash me..This time it’s actually not my fault… I am going to get her fixed as soon as she is able to be spayed after her kittens are born.

Thanks in advance,

thank you to all who answered on t he first 9 questions. He has several other cats around here to play with. When we let him out around a kitten we have in our yard he attacked it even when it ran…he even pulled it off the fence and pinned it to the ground until my mother pulled him off…so I need to find a way to stop him from howling yet keep him inside….

Bycio B asked:

I adopted two wonderful kitties- one’s about 12 weeks old, the other 4 weeks. The smaller obsessively tried to nurse the older girl.

I have no idea how to make him stop. I realize he is still a baby and was probably not ready to stop nursing, but the older cat is so annoyed. She can’t sleep peacefully because a little kitten is attached to her *******!!

Any ideas? I’m thinking of getting a small bottle for him and feeding him that way, hoping he’ll learn to leave her alone. Anyone else have this problem? How’d you get them to stop? What’s the typical age a kitten stops nursing?

Thanks!

Shayla

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n85/Luna810/PictureorVideo801.jpg

Monty,age 5 and Moby’s brother: 15 lbs.

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n85/Luna810/PictureorVideo1161.jpg

The other 11 are normal – sized. Paul is the only one who is FAT. Moby and Monty are chubby, but they are also big-boned. Linus is just BIG!

So how much does your largest cat weigh, and is it a purebred or an ordinary domestic “moggy”? Mine are all domestic short or longhairs.
I guess we all have some fat kitties!!

Pretty Kitty, your cats are all gorgeous!
Edit:Wow,everyone has sucj gorgeous cats!

Presouzkitty – Paul does look like a ragdoll and it’s funny, because his mother was a feral black cat and the other kittens in the litter are a black and white longhair with short legs and a smushed nose, like aPersian,a red tabby with white,a brown mackerel tabby with white and a calico.None of them are nearly as big as Paul, except for the brown tabby, and he is about 15 lbs.The other three are normal – sized.

He is aggressive, curious, neutered but still clawed, and has totally dominated our purebred, 106-lb. German Shepherd Savannah.
