It varies widely.  If you work for a corporate chain petstore, like Petsmart or Petco, you&#039;ll probably have a higher salary and better benefits, but you will not make commission, and you&#039;ll have a lot of corporate BS to deal with.  If you go with a privately owned shop, you might have the option of working on commission, but as a manager, you might not.  You also may not get any benefits at all, or else only a few that will not be nearly as good as corporate benefits.  

You could try talking to store owners and managers in your area to feel out the average salary and whether or not commission or benefits are typical options.</description>
