I think in every state you must be 15 to get a job. Try babysitting or doing odd jobs for now. After a few years or even weeks of working you will be ready to stop. I worked in a pet store a couple years before I graduated high school. It was fun, but cleaning up after the animals was pretty disgusting.
Yes,the working permit will help. Under FEDERAL law,you have to be sixteen to work in most non farm jobs. And since you’re still in school, you can only work four hours a day.
You need to go to your school counselor,or you and one of your parents have to go in person to the School District Administration office and ask for a Workers Permit Application.
The parent fills it out and signs it,then sends it to your State Department of Labor,or State Employment Commission.(Look on web site for your state and click under “Employment” to see who you can send it to.)
Once you get your permit, you’ll have to make a photo copy and submit it with every application for employment you make.
