I think you benefit from pet insurance more if you have a pet that requires vaccinations and routine surgery such as a cat or a dog. You sound like a very conscious bird owner, feeding him a quality diet, etc. Usually birds only require nail and feather trimming. That's not to say they can't get sick too, but in the long run you will probably pay more for the insurance than you will actually use. But if you want the peace of mind, then go for the insurance. As the others have said its really a personal choice.

I can tell you from experience that you never think you'll need it... but if the day comes when your pet is ill (hopefully no time soon) and requires extensive care, you will wish you would have gotten it. At the same time, you can purchase it and your pet may live a long healthy life and never even require more then the 'routine' visits and you'll wonder why you wasted all that money on premiums..

Either way, it really is a personal choice.

I personally wouldnt. I had a Greatdane (dog) and that's when you need insurance. The bigger they are the harder they fall. With a bird you have alot of control but with a larger outside animal alot more could happen.

In the end its up to you but i personally wouldnt

Im not sure, ive been looking also for my ferrets. Only because of all the health problems they have when they age. They are rescues, so you never know what can happen.
