“Given the current situation and until this crisis is resolved, the ASPCA is recommending pets be fed products containing US – sourced protein supplements only.”
Lena asked:
I know the economy is hitting pet owners hard. Personally, I would never switch to a lower-priced dog food. What about you?

I am looking for homemade recipes for my shih tzu. I will only make her food because I lost a pet from the pet food recall, and I am just too scared to feed her commercial food. What type of fiber would I add to say roast beef and mash potatoes and carrots. Or ground meat with carrots and rice. Thank You in advance.

Kamloops prices are almost half of Merritt. I will continue to go to Kamloops despite the drive. I have many cats (I am a breeder) and price of pet food is very important to me. I spend in excess of $150 per month on food, litter, beds, etc. for my cats. When it is kitten season I spend extra on high quality kitten food and cat carriers when I am shipping my kittens world wide. I would hope that all Walmarts would offer the same priceing but obviously not so which means I will take my business elsewhere to get the best value for my dollar. Pet stores in Kamloops charge less than Merritt’s Walmart for a higher quality food.

I am looking for the best natural pet food, regardless of price. I’ve been looking into Canidae and Wellness. Has anyone had experiences with any of these 2 brands? Is there other good brands out there? I have an almost 3-month old Lab puppy. Right now he’s on Science Diet, but after doing some research, I found out that is not the best food for my dog, so I want to switch him ASAP.
