Timothy hay, snacks like yogurt chips can be bought at pet stores.Mine loves lettuce, apples, carrots, bananas and celery. Also a good product is Bi-Odor it has completely eliminated the “pet” smell from him and his cage.

It is absolutely essential that guinea pigs have hay at all times. This should make up most of their diet. All pigs need unlimited grassy hay (timothy, orchard or bluegrass). Pigs under 6 months also need some alfalfa hay as well as alfalfa based pellets. These are two really great hay sources:

Guinea pigs also need at least a cup of veggies per day. These should be chosen to provide lots of vitamin C because guinea pigs can’t make their own vitamin C. The veggies should have a lot of leafy greens like lettuce (but not iceberg), parsley, cilantro and kale. Bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, apples, melons, cabbage, spinach and many other foods are also good. This page has a ton of diet info.

The best thing for learning about guinea pigs is to read this care guide. It has a lot of excellent information about how to keep the healthiest and happiest guinea pigs.

Also, definitely don’t buy a pet store cage. They’re tiny and don’t give a guinea pig nearly enough room to move around. A cage for one guinea pig should be at least 7.5 sq ft. Really cheap and cool cages can be built like these:
