Check your local rescues and shelters first. Huskies are a really popular breed in a lot of shelters right now. You can google your area for your local shelters and rescues.

I live in northern CA and I just got a Sibe end of last year. It really is best to get one from a SHCA (Siberian Husky Club of America) breeder. My Sibe has an awesome temperament because the breeder socialized her starting from 5 weeks old. In comparison, my first dog has a much more difficult temperament because I got him from an online breeder who was less diligent about temperament and socialization. Being careful with where you get your puppy really pays off later on when you are pulling your hair out dealing with behavior issues.

I just went to this site:

The other advantage of hooking up with a good breeder is that she can advise you on a variety of care issues, and hook you up with other Sibe owners and Sibe events.

Elly gave you the best resource. Where you get your puppy *should* matter to you, because a responsible breeder will provide you with a healthy, well-socialized puppy from genetically tested and proven parents.

A good breeder will also be there to answer your questions, and provide support/information when you need it.

I know several responsible breeders in Northern/Central CA — they are all SHCA members, and on that website.
