Does the Vet get paid up front with pet insurance?

By The Pets One • Pet Care • 15 Aug 2009

Deborah B asked:

My mother recently purchased pet insurance. Does she have to pay the vet first and then wait for the company to pay her?
Also has anyone heard of PetCare insurance. Respond to my
email dbell412@comcast.net
Thank You

It depends on the vet. You ask and find out if they will send in and get paid through the insurance, you if you pay and then you get reimbursed from the insurance.

Ask the company in which the insurance was taken out.

Most pet insurances I have seen require you to pay the vet up front and then they will reimburse you when you submit all the needed paperwork.
