Annabella asked:
I want to decorate my fish & turtle tanks for Xmas but I can’t find any pet supply places that carry them. Maybe I could go to a craft store & buy a ceramic Xmas tree?
Any suggestions? Maybe a nice snow globe? Then again I guess I couldn’t shake it while it’s in there.

Unless you can find some specialty pet shop that sells guaranteed aquarium-safe decorations, it’s best to only decorate the outside of the tank.
If you wanted to get creative you could put decorations on the outside of the glass, or use the cling-film decorations used for windows.
In my experience, most Christmas decorations are cheap plastic crap and that doesn’t raise my confidence level for using it in an aquarium.

what about christmas mugs? you can find them at the dollar store usually and they’re safe.
if you find something you like but it’s not aquarium safe (or you’re not sure if it is) you can cheaply make it safe. simply get some aquarium sealant (available at most home improvement stores, walmarts, and pet stores) and cover it with that.
but, here a few things I found with a quick browse on the interenet if you don’t mind ordering it:
or, you could do what I do and put some garland around the tank :)

in all my tanks i get a little stick and some java moss and make a christmas tree and put some red a green gravel in the tank and at pets mart they sel christmas decor around december.
P.S you can also add some christmas moss.

YOu could put plastic christmas bulbs in there. They would probably float, and would be fun for the fish.
The ceramic christmas tree is a great idea as well:)

you can add up fibre toys seeming to be turtles, fish of different colours, shades and light, put them nicely inside the aquarium for
a beutiful and shiny appearance.
