What are some examples of saltwater fish that are cheap and can be found in pet stores / aquarium shops?

Kelvin G asked:

The saltwater fish should be cheap like $5 and can be bought in pet stores or aquarium shops. How much does the saltwater fish cost?

there is no such thing as a cheap salt water fish. because the hobbie its self is hard to understand. the fish themselves are very hard to keep alive

Angel fish are cheap if you buy them young enough. However, a salt water aquarium is costly to maintain as well as labor-intensive. Salinity levels and temperature maintenance is key to the survival of these beautiful fish. Salties are much more beautiful to behold than their freshwater counterparts but require a lot more of your time/energy/money. Peace.

It sounds like you’re new to this. I would start out with freshwater until you get a feel for it. The reason alot of people get frustrated with this hobby is impatience. They want fish now and don’t cycle the tank first, or put the fishs’ need before their own wants. Then they have 30 dead fish and an ad for an aquarium in the classifieds.

You can put acclimated black mollies in salt water but that’s it for cheap fish or equipment. You can get colorful fresh water species that are much hardier and easier to keep in a tank.
