Just got a 10-12 week old kitten. She was a barn cat, I’ve put her in the litter box, but she just wants to jump out. I have a rabbit and when I opened her cage, the kitten went to the bathroom in the cage. I’m not going to leave the door open, and I put some cedar chips in the litter box, just because she smelled it. She has worms so I’ve given her medicine. I don’t want runny crap all over the place. She’s a sweet kitten, but I can’t have it using the bathroom all over my house. And, I am keeping her inside, no options on that one. Any help would be great.

Keep the rabbit away so it won’t get worms. Have you given them both meds for that? I don’t know if the rabbit can get the worms but I would call a vet to ck it out!To train a kitten you just put them on the litter,after they sit on it and even if they don’t *** or **** show them to cover the ****.They will get the idea and start going there. You can pick them up and put them in the litter box with some **** that they did in the floor and show them to cover it up.Once they get the smell and have been shown a couple of times they usually get it.The cat will not stay in the litter box! You will need to close her up in the bathroom or laundry room with the litter box and her food and water until she gets well. If her food is close to the box she will not use the litter box so put it as far away as you can.Cats are very smart and **** the smell and dirtiness and will train easily. I have never had a cat that is hard to train in my 54 yrs! Best wishes!

Take the litter out of the litter box. Get a couple of hand fulls of straw and some dirt. Good old flower garden dirt (or vegt.). Put that in the potty box. Take out the cedar chips for now and Give her an adjustment period and definitely confine her to one room. She’ll figure it out. My cat had 5 kittens and we didn’t have any litter for a few days. You might say they were ready before we were. But they climbed right in once it was filled with litter. it’s Cats nature to bury their droppings so it shouldn’t take her very long once every thing is in place! Also make sure it’s kept clean or she won’t use it. Cats are very particular about smelly litter boxes. Keep her bed, food and water on the other side of the room away from the litter box. Once she’s accustomed to using the litter box just gradually mix in the regular litter until it’s dirt free so to speak. The straw only needs to be added to first few days! Have fun and enjoy her!!

Well if you take a jungle child out of hte jungle it will take time to get it to adapt to civilization… Same for your cat.
Yes,,, put her in a room… also keep litter box in quiet out of the way location for privacy… cats dont like an audience either.
Try placing her **** if she goes elsewhere in the litter box then take her to the box let her sniff it
If she continues to want to use the bunny cage…. maybe try putting some bunny poo in HER litter box…
She may be going potty where the rest of the clan is going as that is what she is used to… just no other cats so she goes with the bunny
If she has worms becareful as your bunny may get them as well and you too… most parasites kitty’s can have cross to both bunnies and humans… Yummy eh?!
Keep her inside,, and somewhat confined til she gets it…. she is probably upset.. give her time

Be patient. The cat will learn how to use the litter box. Until your cat is reliably house trained, she should not have free run of your home. If your cat continually makes mistakes, the behavior can simply become a habit. Punishing a cat after the fact teaches her to be afraid of you. Scolding and then taking the cat to her litter box after she has already eliminated teaches her to associate the litter box with punishment. Is her litter box cleaned with fresh litter every day? Cats do not like the smell of urine. She’ll get used to using the litter box. Good luck.

keep the litter box close to it but all cats like to dig to go potty so put the kitten in the litter box and gently grab its paws and do a digging motion in the litter pretty much show it how to dig in the litter and the if it still go on the floor rub its nose in it put it back it the litter box and show it how to dig again and it also help if it does **** in the floor pick it up with tissue and put it in the litter box for a day and so it to the kitten cause smell is everything to an animal if it smells that that is where the **** goes it will go back, try it work for my inside kitty and she is about nine years old now and still working

Put in the litter box exactly what she is use to in the barn. Then slowly, over time, start mixing it with kitty litter and changing the proportions.
We did that with our stray who was only use to dirt. Started with just dirt and over the next six days added more and more kitty litter until it was just kitty litter. She’s never had a single accident.
