Pets are domesticated animals – they need ‘houses’ and human care.

Anyone that buys a dog from a pet store is uninformed – they are supoorting puppy mills.

They do, If youre not cruel to them meet all thier needs and play with them then the pet will love you. You get what you give. I have had three hamsters two mice hundreds of fish and a dog (so far) and they have all loved me, as I have loved them. I played follow the finger with my fish, lol. I took my hamsters and mice out to play and I play Tug-O-War with my dog. They all love me for the love I give them. Every living thing is like that.

Probably because none of us can be really sure what our pets feel. Think of the rich ladies with their ‘babies’ (Chihuahuas and Pekingnese dogs etc).. I wonder what the dogs really think about the perfume and silly dresses.. I think most of the time, people don’t really know what it means to do what is best for their pets. And since many of us can’t see the signs our pets are really expressing, we simply believe what we want.. But you are simplifying matters. Would a horse rather run free or be a pampered pet and have every need looked after for the rest of his life? Well nobody’s about to let their horse decide so we’ll never know.. How else can a pet love me unless I care for him? If he was a wild animal, he’d not love anything else except for his mate I suppose. Let’s look at pet cats. They don’t realy need humans but they stay with humans because they want to and have benefitted from living with humans. They do not have to work like dogs so we live with each other solely because we like the companionship. Pets can love us and indeed they do..

well i don’t treat animals like that! if i had a dog i would treat it like god wanted me too!

What kind of Juvenal question is that? They are domesticated. They only know that people care for them.

It’s not love, we have a Master-pet relationship with animals. We meet their physical needs. I don’t know what I’d do without my pets and I hope I never find out. Truth be told, I need them probably more than they need me.

i do see your point but what else do you with an animal when you buy it fish need heaters and a pump so they need a fish tank dogs need to be kept inside or in a yard or they would run riot everywhere most cats wonder anyway and smaller animals need to be caged but i dont agree with caging up rabbits mine run free in the gardenand let themselves into a cage when they want to i love all my pets and i do the best for them

It’s called a bond. And there’s no way to explain it to someone who doesn’t know. It just one of those things you have to experience to understand. Not every pet owner has that type of relationship with their pet, but the ones that do would never trade their pet for all the money in the world.
